Web push notifications are messages that come from a website. You get them on your desktop or device even when the website is not open in your browser. It is a new marketing channel to re-engage your site visitors without knowing their email or other contact details.

Web Push SDK Setup (HTTPS)

ioPush SDK setup guide for HTTPS websites. Works with all Web Push platforms (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Android).
After completing this section, your site will be able to send notifications to visitors, and your visitors will be able to subscribe to your site's notifications.

PLEASE FOLLOW ALL STEPS

  • Determining if your site fully supports HTTPS to use this setup guide, your site must fully support HTTPS, which you can determine by looking for the following:
    • Your site URL must begin with https://, and display a green lock icon on the browser's address bar.
    • Your site must redirect all http:// requests to https:// requests. In other words, users accessing the site via HTTP will be redirected to the HTTPS version.
  • Add code to your site
    • Login to ioPush back office web portal and navigate to Code & Implementation section.
    • Copy and Paste the code given to your website.
  • Upload required files
    • Download service worker file and place it in the root folder of your site.

After Code Implementation

The dashboard exposes all the functionality of ioPush in an easy-to-use interface.

  • Create Welcome Push – custom welcome notification for subscriber
  • Create Campaign – custom push notification to subscribers
  • Create RSS PUSH – RSS news feed as push notifications
  • Segmentation - creating and using segments
  • Subscription Layouts – customize subscription layouts

Users can customize different subscription layouts. By default end user will receive 'Native' subscription layout.
